The Chiappa Rhino 60DS is one of the most uniquely engineered revolvers in the world, firing from the bottom of the cylinder rather than the top.
This project is a 1:1 scale, highly detailed 3D-printed prop replica of the 6-inch barrel variant (60DS) chambered in 9mm. Designed with accuracy in mind, it captures the signature futuristic, aggressive aesthetic that has made the Rhino a staple in modern design.
Key Features of this Build:
- Bottom-Barrel Alignment: Accurately replicates the low-bore axis design that reduces recoil in the real firearm.
- Functional Mechanics: Features a rotating cylinder, moving hammer, and a working trigger system chiappa style blueprint
- High-Detail Printing: Printed at a fine layer height to preserve the sharp angles, venting ribs, and Picatinny rails.
Build Details:
- Material used: High-tensile PLA+ / PETG for structural durability.
- Finishing process: Sanded, primed, and airbrushed with a metallic finish to replicate the anodized look of the original firearm, completed with a faux-wood textured grip.
