The Urutau is a completely 3D-printable, semi-automatic bullpup pistol-caliber carbine (PCC) primarily chambered in 9x19mm Luger. Designed between 2021 and 2024 .The weapon is heavily inspired by the Steyr AUG’s bullpup configuration and engineered to be manufactured entirely at home using DIY materials, commercial hardware (like steel bar stock and hydraulic piping), and a standard 3D printer, completely bypassing the need for regulated commercial components.
Action & Mechanism: It operates on a closed-bolt, straight-blowback mechanism. It features a weldless rectangular telescoping bolt held together by industrial adhesive (JB-Weld) and pins, avoiding the need for welding equipment.
Magazine Compatibility: It is designed to feed from CZ Scorpion Evo 3 style magazines rather than standard Glock magazines.
Physical Specs: It has an overall length of roughly 475 mm with a standard 250 mm (approx. 10-inch) barrel, and weighs around 2,830 grams.
Barrel Fabrication: The rifled barrel is produced domestically using a process called electrochemical machining (ECM) on basic hydraulic pipes.
