The SY22 is a highly capable, budget-friendly, semi-automatic .22LR DIY firearm platform designed for the 3D2A community. This file release showcases a fully 3D printed prototype build aimed at testing frame durability, feed geometry, and trigger mechanism cycling.
By utilizing accessible 3D printing techniques paired with easily sourced hardware components, the SY22 offers an exceptional “pocket plinker” footprint with factory-like mechanics

⚙️ Recommended Print Settings
- Material: Carbon Fiber Reinforced Nylon (PA-CF) or high-quality PLA Pro/Max (CF or tough filaments are highly recommended for the frame to combat fracturing over long strings of fire).
- Infill: 100% (Solid) using a Gyroid or Grid pattern.
- Wall Loops: Minimum of 6–8 walls for optimal structural integrity.
- Orientation: Print according to the enclosed assembly readme; typically printed grip-up or at a slight tilt to maximize shear strength across critical pins
